Entering the Age of AI in Research – Elsevier webinar on 16 March

Elsevier welcomes all interested parties to join the Entering the Age of AI in Research: Tools, Workflows, and Perspectives from Elsevier webinar on 16 March.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming part of everyday research practice. From literature discovery and data analysis to strategic and editorial decision-making, AI tools are beginning to reshape how researchers work across disciplines. This webinar provides an overview of how AI technologies are being integrated into research workflows and scholarly information systems. We will discuss practical use cases across different stages of the research lifecycle and consider what these developments mean for researchers, early-career scholars, academic leaders, librarians, and academic editors.
Drawing on examples from Elsevier’s solutions portfolio, the session will outline how AI capabilities are being implemented in areas such as literature exploration, research evaluation, and knowledge synthesis. As part of that, we will briefly introduce LeapSpace, Elsevier’s recently launched AI-driven platform designed to support more efficient exploration and interpretation of scientific information.
The aim is not to speculate about AI in the abstract, but to examine concrete tools, current capabilities, and responsible adoption within academic research environments.

Topics will include

  • Where AI is already influencing research workflows
  • How AI capabilities appear in major research platforms and information systems
  • Implications for different roles in the research ecosystem
  • Practical considerations for responsible and effective use of AI tools in academia
